Clinical Trials 101 -Training Program for Clinical Researchers
The Clinical & Translational Research Program presented a 13-part mini training series in October 2009 to provide an overview of the clinical trials process for investigators and researchers. Now available on-line, the course can be taken for either credit or review.
Topics covered by the course are ethics and compliance issues, working with the IRB, funding, contracts, grant applications, budgets, post award management, XenoBase, study design, biostatistics, the Clinical Research Unit (CRU), laboratory services, and working with a clinical research associate, as well as some helpful hints to helping the process along.
For those taking the course for credit, the inclusion of short and simple quizzes at the end of most of the segments can track progress and a certificate will issued upon the completion of the course.
