Awards and Honors Children’s Memorial Research Center was recently awarded two grants from the Searle Funds at The Chicago Community Trust. The grants will support Dr. Xiaobin Wang’s study, “Application of genomics and proteomics approach in understanding biological mechanisms of food allergy,” and Dr. Hans-Georg Simon’s study, “Rebuilding a heart.” Read more >>

 Ram Yogev, MD, has been appointed Deputy Director for Research — Clinical Sciences.
Michael Kluppel Michael Klüppel, PhD, joined the Human Molecular Genetics Program at Children’s Memorial Research Center from the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute of Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Canada, where he worked as a postdoctoral fellow and research associate in the laboratory of Dr. Jeffrey Wrana. Hui-Ju Tsai

Hui-Ju Tsai, MPH, PhD, joined the Mary Ann & J. Milburn Smith Child Health Research (CHR) Program at the research center as a tenure track assistant professor in 2006. Tsai’s training is in molecular biology, epidemiology and statistical genetics. Read more >>
Xin Liu Xin Liu, MD, PhD, joined the Smith CHR Program and the Department of Pediatrics at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine as a tenure track assistant professor in January 2007. Liu’s research includes applied and methodological studies in genetic epidemiology, with the overall aim to decipher the mechanisms underlying complex traits. Read more >>
